Brawlhalla has simple controls and one-touch special moves. This allows new players to quickly get up to speed with the game. The controls include movement keys and buttons for attacking, performing special moves, picking up or throwing weapons, and dodging. The keyboard and various controller buttons can be bounced.
Players can move by running left and right and jumping. Players can perform a quick side dash on the ground, and side or vertical dodge in the air or on the ground. It is also possible to dodge immediately after an attack to maintain pressure on the opponent. Once in the air, players can choose to perform any combination of the following: three jumps, directional air dodging, ground movement in the air using "Gravity Cancel" and "Quick Drop".
The default control system is very user-friendly. The virtual joystick is located on the left side of the screen, and all the action buttons and jump buttons are on the right side of the screen. Also, use the options menu to adjust the controls to your liking. You can move, or resize any of the interface buttons.
Brawlhalla's fights last about 4 or 5 minutes, depending on the players' skills. The goal is to knock your opponent off the stage. The important thing to remember is that this is the only way to score winning points. Just like in the Super Smash Bro. series, the more you attack your opponent, then the farther your hits will throw them.
